Who is Jesus?

Jesus is seen as a leader, someone sent by God to save God's people, who bring miracles and gives people the gospel. He is a moral teacher, a reason for living that helps pave the way for those who go astray. According to the Bible, God is the creator of heaven and earth and all things. Adam and Eve are the ancestors of mankind because they did not listen to God's words and freely ate the "forbidden fruit". These two people have passed on their sins to their descendants, which are humans. Therefore, God was born as a human and suffered to atone for the sins of mankind and reconcile with God. Contemporary Jews often add the father's name or the name of the country of origin to the personal name. Thus, Jesus is also called “Jesus of Nazareth”. Early Catholics often referred to him as “Jesus Christ” which means “anointed one,” which in modern language is referred to as “savior.”

The Life of Jesus

Jesus was born on December 25 in Bethlehem, in Judea, in the time of King Herod, whose father, Joseph of the lineage of David, was a carpenter. Due to the great mystery, the Father used the power of the Holy Spirit to incarnate the Second Person in the womb of the Virgin Mary - the mother of Jesus.

The recluse in Nazareth, Israel, grew up as children of the same age in difficult circumstances, was educated, studied the Bible, and studied carpentry with Saint Joseph.

At the age of 12, he followed his family to the temple to celebrate the Passover, and when the festival was over, he did not return to his family, but stayed in Jerusalem, being lost with his family. During his stay in Jerusalem, he listened, questioned, and answered the monks, surprising them with their intelligence. Finally, he was found in the Jerusalem palace while debating with Jewish scholars.

At the age of 30, he left home to preach the good news of the kingdom of God and carry out salvation. He was baptized in the Jordan River. As soon as he came up from the water, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove. After being filled with the Holy Spirit, he was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert, did not eat salt, prayed forty days and nights, suffered all kinds of temptations of the devil, but his faith remained steadfast.

Then he returned to Galilee and his fame spread throughout. The man who used parables taught in the synagogues and was loved by the people. With his power, he traveled to many places and taught and healed those who were possessed by demons, diseases, leprosy, or crippled people, the blind could see, the deaf could hear, the dumb could speak. , and the dead come to life.

Jesus founded the church for you to bless, bring faith to people, gather 12, Apostles, teach and give them the power to go preach the Gospel and bless sentient beings, That is man's mission. He had to suffer to save mankind, however, he was murdered by the very people he was protecting. Because the doctrine of God exposed the false, self-satisfied ways of life of the Pharisees, there were contradictions to the meanings and folklore of the Jewish leadership consisting of opposing power groups such as the Sadducees and the Pharisees. often disagree, hate, and find ways to oppose people. Many of the people viewed him as a social reformer and believed that he was the one who came to rescue the Jews from the domination of the Roman Empire and vice versa. The ruling elite saw him as a thorn in the eye, a new force threatening contemporary religious and political institutions.

Near the end of his life, Jesus went up to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover, when he entered the city he was greeted by the people as a triumphant king. However, it was those glories that motivated the enemy to decisively kill people. Knowing that, he spends more time with his disciples, the Lord turns bread and wine into his body and blood to stay with those he loves, he also washes the disciples' hands to teach them a lesson about love.

Late at night, Jesus entered the Garden of Olives to pray, Judas - one of the twelve disciples who betrayed him, used a kiss of affection to point out the Roman soldiers to arrest Jesus. The public court accused him of blasphemy and inciting rebellion, and handed him over to Roman Empire officials to ask for the death penalty. Under pressure from the Jewish Religious leaders, governor Pilate ordered Jesus to be crucified. He was beaten, tortured, mocked, bound with thorns on his head, forced to carry his cross to Calvary. They nailed Him to the cross and he died because of that cruel torture. He was buried and on the third day, he rose again, according to the Scriptures. After his resurrection, he also appeared to comfort and instruct his disciples for 40 days, and then sent them to preach the good news of the kingdom of God. Then he ascended to heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father.

Image of Jesus in the hearts of believers

Most Christians consider Jesus to be God, the Messiah whose coming was foretold, the Second Person of the Trinity. He came to earth as a human through the mystery of the Holy Spirit to save humanity from sin and was like a sacrifice to atone for man's sins. They also believe that Jesus lived and returned to Heaven.
