When Is Global Family Day?
What Is The Global Family Day?
Global Family Day, formerly known as International Peace Day, is observed annually to promote the notion of world harmony and unity. Additionally, it highlights the concept of the globe as a global village in which all people are family regardless of citizenship, boundaries, or color.
It all began in 1997 when the United Nations General Assembly declared the International Decade for the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence for the World's Children — effective on the millennium's first day. Linda Grover was instrumental in promoting this in the United States, and other efforts included the publication of publications such as "One Day in Peace - January 1, 2000." This novel was based on the premise of a future day in which there is just peace and no violence.
However, this was only the beginning of a new peaceful world, and in 1999, all United Nations member nations were invited to publicly dedicate the first day of that year to developing peacebuilding plans. Seeing the good influence of the day, the United Nations designated Global Family Day an annual event in 2001.

Reasons To Celebrate Global Family Day
The Present Is An Excellent Time To Make Family Resolutions
As I watched the fireworks on television last night, I noticed that thousands of people had gathered near the London Eye to ring in the New Year with their loved ones. Traditionally, the first day of the year is when people make New Year's resolutions; it is a time for looking forward to new beginnings and generally letting go of past negative and sad experiences. Individuals will abstain from chocolate and alcohol or establish a new fitness and health regimen (all with good, but not always lasting, intentions).
Your Family Teach You The Most
As I set my intentions for 2016, I was reminded of something my wonderful father always says. He compares the family unit to a university. It is the only setting in which you can learn about leadership and guidance, receive mutual support, and prepare for adulthood – both good and bad. It's similar to a life-training ground.
Appreciate Your Family – You Only Have One
Thus, for me, it is a day dedicated to promoting peace through the celebration and acknowledgment of my family. Global Family Day recognizes that we are all members of the human race, a global family. I believe that beginning with our own families is the first step toward global family harmony.
Today, we will celebrate by sharing food, conversing, and setting a New Year's Resolution to do something peaceful for ourselves and the planet in the coming year. Personally, I'm going to schedule some time for rest and relaxation in 2016 (which I've realized I don't do nearly enough of), and for the planet, I'm going to send out absent healing and positive thoughts for those less fortunate than myself.
How To Celebrate Global Family Day?
Arrange an educational webinar for members of your community.
Collaborate with smart scholars to host an hour-long webinar on the value of peace. The webinar should include a discussion of strategies for influencing the next generation toward peacebuilding.
Create a petition to put an end to wars and conflicts
This will be really simple since all you will need is access to the internet to establish a petition. What you need to do is as follows: Select a specific ongoing war, conduct research on it, expose the horrors being committed, and rally support for the cause. A petition with a significant number of signatures has the potential to persuade influential peace-building groups to take a stance.
Investigate peacebuilding
Consider watching a film or documentary on peacebuilding or conducting research in the library or on the internet.
