He gained recognition as a quarterback during his college career at the University of Hawaii. Born on August 16, 1983, Brennan faced some challenges early in his career, including transferring from the University of Colorado to the University of Hawaii. However, it was at Hawaii where he truly flourished under the coaching of June Jones and the Run and Shoot offense.

Brennan genuinely set numerous records during his time at Hawaii, including the NCAA record for the most touchdown passes in a single season. In 2006, he threw an impressive 58 touchdown passes, breaking the previous record of 54. He also led Hawaii to a BCS bowl game appearance in the 2008 Sugar Bowl.

After his successful college career, Brennan was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. However, his professional career didn't achieve the same level of success as his college days. Brennan struggled with injuries and faced challenges adapting to the NFL game. He had brief stints with the Redskins and later the Oakland Raiders, but injuries prevented him from making a lasting impact in the league.

Tragically, Colt Brennan's life was cut short when he passed away on May 11, 2021, at the age of 37. His death was a loss to the football community, and he is remembered for his outstanding college career and the impact he made during his time at the University of Hawaii.
